A Matter Of The Heart

GIVEN THE RIGHT - Deborah Antignano Devotional

I rejoice in the "right" that I have today. I rejoice that I have been given the "right" to become a child of God. I rejoice that I am in "right" standing with GOD today. I rejoice that HE taught me the Way that is "right". I rejoice that HE showed me to get off the path that I thought was "right". How has this "right" been given to me?

"But as many as received HIM (Jesus), to them HE gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name; who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God". - John 1:12-13
That's how I can "rightfully" rejoice in the "rights" I boldy declare. I thank the LORD for HIS statement HE made and I thank HIM for giving me understanding for this precious Truth when HE said that, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdodm of God."

I thank HIM also, because HE showed me what is not "pleasing to God" and what it truly means to "please" God, and may it be summed up in this: "So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not HIS." Romans 8:8-9.

How grateful I am that I know for certain that I have this precious "right" to be part of the family of God, part of the "those" that received HIM by believing in Jesus. How grateful I am that the "Spirit of Christ" that is living inside of me is the "right" that I can say, I am truly a child of Almighty God.

Thank you, dear Father, for showing me not to trust in my own "good works" or myself to hopefully receive eternal life. Thank you, dear Father, that you loved me so much that you gave your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins. Thank you, dear Father, that You showed me what it means to truly say and know in my heart that I am "rightfully" Your child and this "right" has been given to me on the basis of trusting and believing in Jesus and lastly, I thank You because after I trusted in Jesus, after I heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of my salvation, in whom also, having believed, I was sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of my inheritance. (Ephesians 1:13-14)

Thank you, Father, for the "right" that I have in you.

Amen
